Google Analytics 4 Integration for Shopify
In today's dynamic digital environment, harnessing actionable insights from data is paramount. Our recent engagement showcases our commitment to staying at the forefront of technological shifts and ensuring our clients stay ahead in their analytics game. Our clients approached us with a request to set up Google Analytics 4, as Google is discontinuing support for Universal Analytics. Until March 2023, Shopify lacked the built-in capability to install Google Analytics 4. This functionality was only available for Universal Analytics. Our Approach: In the client's Google Analytics account, we created a GA4 property. Subsequently, we obtained the GA4 tracking code and inserted it into the website theme, right after the Head tag. Utilizing Tag Assistant Legacy, we diligently verified the correct installation and functioning of GA4. The Outcome: We successfully transitioned the website to Google Analytics 4, which represents a more advanced data tracking model. This move ensures our clients benefit from an enhanced analytics framework that aligns with the evolving digital landscape.
