FIXING A BUSINESS APPLICATION AFTER A FACEBOOK API ERROR
FIXING A BUSINESS APPLICATION AFTER A FACEBOOK API ERROR
Business Challenge:
The client's Instagram contest application abruptly ceased to function due to an issue originating from the Facebook API.
Our Approach:
In diagnosing the root cause of the malfunction, we scrutinized the data in response to API queries. It became evident that a Facebook API error resulted in a consistently empty "permalink" field for all media objects. This finding was corroborated through research in alternative sources, revealing a widespread problem with no available solutions. The resolution came through the creation of a new user token and transitioning the integration to a new authentication method.
Outcome:
The application's functionality was successfully restored, ensuring a seamless user experience once again.
