Setup of Product Sets and Color Swatches in Shopify

In the ever-evolving landscape of e-commerce, meeting customer demands while enhancing their shopping journey remains paramount. At our firm, we thrive on tackling challenges head-on and crafting solutions that redefine the online shopping experience. Our recent endeavor in collaboration with a valued client exemplifies this commitment. A client approached us with a request to develop functionality that would allow for the creation of product sets with options for selecting different colors and the ability to add, for example, a single item from the set. It was crucial that users could easily assemble sets of pillowcases, duvet covers, and sheets of various sizes, as well as switch between different colors using color swatches. Maintaining the logic of product SKUs in the inventory was also a vital aspect—each item in the set needed to have its own unique SKU. This proved to be a challenge within the limitations of Shopify using all the methods we explored. What did we do? We conducted an analysis of plugins available, but none of them suited our requirements. Therefore, we developed our own solution to enable the creation and sale of product sets with varying colors and sizes on the website. Outcome: Thanks to the implemented solution, users now experience more convenient and efficient shopping experiences.
